Albany Area Schools ISD #745

Albany Area School district serves the communities of Albany, Avon, Farming, St. Anthony and St. Martin. The district is comprised of two primary schools and one high school.  Two hundred and seventy-nine teachers and support staff serve nearly 1800 students.  The district is dedicated to small class sizes, well designed and delivered curriculum, experienced staff, a variety of lifelong learning opportunities and community partnerships.      

  • Small Class Sizes
    The average class size in the primary grades is 20.  The average size in the high school level is 25.
  • Curriculum Review
    Albany Area has an on-going curriculum review process leading to a well designed and delivered curriculum.  Forty-six college credits are available through our high school course offerings.  The district uses both block and half-block classes to meet academic needs
    of the junior high students.
  • Experienced Staff
    Teaching staff have an average of 13 years experience at Albany Area Schools, with 41% having a Masters Degree.
  • Life Long Learning Opportunities
    Albany Area Community Education offers a variety of adult and youth recreation and enrichment opportunities.  Kids Company is a school age childcare program for students in grades K-6.  Early Childhood Family Education programs provide support, information and resources to help parents in their efforts to raise healthier, happier children and prepare children for school.  Albany Area Community Education also offers free one on one help with English Language Assistance, citizenship, reading, math, computer GED, college preparation and job skills training through the Adult Basic Education Program. 
  • Partnerships
    The district awards $60,000 annually in scholarships from local businesses, groups and memorials.  The district also collaborates with the College of St. Benedict, Saint John’s University and St. Cloud State University in the areas of student teaching, internships, recreation and activities involving cultural awareness and diversity. The district is fortunate to have strong community support and cooperation with our local churches, PTA, Women of Today, Lions Club, Jaycees, Chamber of Commerce’s and the Albany Area Booster Club.
